Feldenkrais for Teams

The way your team sits, breathes, and holds their body during work is directly shaping how well they think. Feldenkrais retrains those patterns — gently and lastingly.

The Problem

The cost of sedentary knowledge work

8–10 hours/day in static postures compresses the spine and restricts breathing

Restricted breathing directly reduces oxygen to the brain and impairs focus

Chronic neck and shoulder tension costs cognitive bandwidth

Repetitive movement patterns create pain that accumulates silently over months

The Methodology

What is the Feldenkrais Method?

Developed by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais — physicist, engineer, and judo black belt — the Feldenkrais Method is a form of somatic education backed by over 100 peer-reviewed studies. It works by using gentle, mindful movement to retrain the brain's movement maps, improving posture, coordination, and ergonomic awareness at the neurological level.

Unlike stretching or exercise, Feldenkrais doesn't work through effort — it works through attention. Sessions are often described as 'brain training through movement'. The changes are deep, structural, and lasting.

How It Compares

Conventional approach vs EKA

Aspect
Typical approach
EKA Balance
Approach
Ergonomics training, stretching breaks, gym access
Neurological movement re-education (Feldenkrais-based)
Target
Symptom management (back pain, tension)
Retraining the movement patterns causing symptoms
Effort required
High — requires motivation to exercise consistently
Low — sessions are gentle, done lying or sitting
Duration of benefit
Short-term while maintaining the habit
Long-term — changes are encoded in the nervous system
The Process

How a session works

01

Awareness

Learn to notice how you actually move — not how you think you move.

02

Exploration

Guided movement sequences reveal habitual tension patterns without effort.

03

Reorganisation

The nervous system finds more efficient, pain-free movement options.

04

Transfer

New patterns carry into daily work: sitting, typing, breathing, presenting.

Delivery Formats

Movement Breaks

15–20 min sessions between meetings, zero equipment needed

Posture Workshop

Half-day deep-dive for desk-heavy teams

Weekly Group Class

Ongoing sessions for teams of 4–20 people

Recovery Sessions

Individual Functional Integration (hands-on) for chronic cases
